No, there aren't any extensive SSP services in New York. We don't even really have an active consumer organization. There is the deaf-blind group of NYC and Long Island, but they don't have formal gatherings. It's more a social group than anything. I agree, HK should be more actively involved in forming an SSP program. I don't set something more up myself because of my active involvement with AADB, my job, and I'm considering going back for another masters.
When you say accepting what it means to be deaf-blind, what do you mean?
