Hi Maurice,

     Thanks for your suggestion.  When I first read it, I thought you meant the Mac group was on the NFB list.  I'm actually glad it's a Google group.  I went ahead and applied for membership. And read several posts.  

      I am aware that Apple has a dedicated blind and deaf call line.  I tried to call it yesterday. They had a hard rock music that hurt my ears playing, and I waited about six minutes for a person to answer.  I ended up using the online chat message system. And the person there didn't know anything about the problem I'm having.  After this massive winter storm blows over, I will try the blind and deaf line again. I figure they are just shortstaffed right now. It was worth it to try the chat feature, as I still do better reading than listening.

Also you are aware that Apple does have a dedicated disability support area, working group. Sometimes they are quite helpful as well. However one note of caution when dealing with Apple, I make sure that I let them know that I?m using a device that works with my hearing aids when I?m using it because they don?t quite understand why the audio can fluctuate greatly. So it is always helpful to give them a bit of a heads up on the situation. For the most part Apple support staff seem to do a good job. One final request before I go will Cheryl from Montana please give me a jingle? I?ve managed to lose your number. Again all the best.
