[nfb-db] Guide Dog Expenses

You referred to my comment about liking control in your message, so yes, you appeared to be speaking directly to me.  It is not a good idea to make general statements about whether a specific group of people could or should do something.  
I think guide dog programs are wonderful, and I think most people do not have the time and energy or desire to train a dog for anything beyond pet behavior, that goes for blind, sighted, deaf, in a wheelchair, etc.  But some of us do.  
If you are interested in guide dogs, Marsha gave a good resourse.  There are people on that list who do train their own or have it privately trained.  But most have dogs from programs.  Which is pretty standard.  It's a great group with a great membership and Marsha does a great job at moderating it.
