Greetings Scott from Colorado and all,

You have a keen sense for organization and the national db can use a go
getter like you. Many suggestions that you have made are either in procedure
or in process. For example, our nfb db website is on facebook. I was
told that the way FB makes money is that when you place something like this on
there and to circulate it cost money. A credit card was given and one of
our members got charged a fee when someone pressed boost to circulate it.
So I am not aware of what changes have been made to correct it. There are
costs with everything.

I'm especiallyy happy though that a dialogue has been started within the
nfb db list. This is one avenue we should make good use of by having our
division post info about our division to attract interested persons. If more
people got involved with the national db they could easily get a committee
started in their state.
As you know the purpose is to inform others who have a need of what is
available for the deaf=blind, such as the "i can connect". And to help the
states with getting other states to pass legislation for SSP's.

Many of our members are working,, in schools, like HKNC, or universities
and this is why we need more participation. I myself am caring for my young
grandchildren who live in our home.

If I recall we did have one resolution make it out of committee to the
convention floor. I could be wrong, but I think it was voted down.

I can't tell you everyone's states, but I am working on these affiliates
myself. I have to find or get the affiliate president to assign a contact
person in Ma., Conn., S>C. and P.R.

Best Regards all,
Cheri Fields
ps NFB DB member
