> Hello All,
> This past week, NCDB and staff from the state deaf-blind projects met in Salt Lake City for our annual DB Summit. During the meeting, Dr. Jerry Petroff from the College of New Jersey announced a new project that he is undertaking to capture descriptive information regarding the characteristics and experiences of youth with deaf-blindness who are out of school and between the ages of 18-25. In the mid 1990's Dr. Petroff conducted research that showed that many young people with deaf-blindness who had transitioned out of high school were finding adult life difficult. Continued efforts to follow up on these findings have occurred on a small scale and this extended national effort will help to collect current data to be used in building more effective national supports for this population of young adults. He is reaching out to deaf-blind youth, their parents, teachers and friends to complete a 20 minute survey.
