hello Heather;
Have you heard of Gay Bellomy?
I believe she is the actual director for the I can’t connect division in San Antonio, I’m not sure how to reach her, but maybe that might give you a start.
If she can’t help you, then it might be a better idea to go to the head person, his name is Jerry barrier and he is with the Perkins school for the blind in Massachusetts, try to reach Gay Bellomy and if you can’t get her to respond or help you, let me know and I will give you Jerry’s email.

Hello, my caseworker or my regional director is not listening to me. First, I cant get a hold of the regional director. Second, I told my assessment coordinator what I need and they do not even ask the regional director at I can connect  to see if they will approve of the items. So I am told I only get one item when two items wich would be cheaper for the program and would better suit my needs. I was not even asked from the listed of items would be better for me. I stated I had health issues like being  able to carry this item when out along with my other medical needs do to my ms. So any ideas of where to go? How come I have other people from my area who do not have to go threw this! They never went down the list and I did not even spend 20 minutes making my choice, no other products were discussed with me.  I only found out what the I can connect had to offer online! I think I should be able to request someone different to do my intake but, my director will not get back with me!
I want someone to ask me based on the I can connect what my needs are and actually goe down the list. The item they want to get me limits me and is way expensive but, if they listened to me, they could save a few thousand dollars!  I made sure I did the math and the justification. It would be actually great to have this item but, I feel the two items I requested would fit my needs for a longer period of time and actually work better with my mainstream technology. IS that not the goal of the program or what? Thanks Heather
