Subject: 2017 National Fitness Challenge
Hello Friends!
WE Fit Wellness is excited to partner with USABA and Anthem for the 2017 National Fitness Challenge. The National Fitness Challenge is designed to promote health and wellness for individuals who are blind and low vision through the use of Fitbit activity trackers and group exercise.
Each participant will receive a Fitbit flex 2 to monitor daily activity with the goal of helping participants meet and exceed the surgeon general's recommendation of 30 minutes of physical activity 5 or more days per week and the American Heart Association's recommendation of 10,000 steps per day. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in four races to be determined by WE Fit Wellness, USABA, and our partners. Race entries and group transportation from key areas will be provided with priority to National Fitness Challenge participants and then for other blind low vision athletes who just wish to participate in races as funding is available. The first two races will be Lucky Laces and Cherry Creek Sneak. There will be a Boulder area race (likely the Boulder Boulder 10k) and a Colorado Springs Race (Likely the Color Run unless dates change to conflict with another major local race).
Participation in the Fitness Challenge costs $10 and is paid at the time of online registration.
If you are legally blind or know of others who would like to participate please reach out to Jessica Beecham via Facebook, email jessica at wefitwellness.com or call 615-497-0435! Participants will be selected on a first come first serve basis. The fitness challenge begins in March and goes through November.
We look forward to joining you on your fitness journey!
Best Wishes
Jessica Beecham
