[Nfb-hi] HEARING MONDAY - We Must Stop HB 646!

Aloha Fellow Federationists

We are so close!

The two Senate committees are now going into decision-making mode.

The Senate Committee on Transportation and Energy is meeting on Wednesday, March 22, at 3:00 PM in conference room 225.

The Senate Committee on Human Services is meeting on Wednesday, March 22, at 2:45 PM in conference room 016.

Notice that Human Services will be meeting only 15 minutes before Transportation and Energy.

It will help so much if our people show up. We never know what the other side is going to do, so we must remain vigilant. We can't let off the gas yet. We just need people to be there to watch the committees voting and maybe even greet the Senators as they walk into the room, just to show that we care.

Ho`opono has a branch-wide meeting at 2 pm, so none of us are going to be there. We still need NFBH members to go carry the flag. If you can be there, please do let me know so that I can have some understanding of what our showing will be like.

Much mahalo for everyone's efforts to stand up against low expectations!

Yours in Federationism,

Justin Salisbury

Subject: RE: HEARING MONDAY - We Must Stop HB 646!

Fellow Federationists:

Happy Tuesday!

I am so pleased with the showing we made at the public hearing, and I really enjoyed my conversations with the Senators and stakeholders after the hearing. Shout outs to Shellford, Dean, Shannon, and Debbie Gabe for their great testimonies! The folks from DCAB were great, too.

As great as it was, though, we need to see this through to the end. We can't end up like the Atlanta Falcons.

We just need to do one more thing before they have decision-making meetings on Wednesday, tomorrow. Let's all make one final push with phone calls in opposition to this bill, thanking them for their time and attention with yesterday's public hearing. Below my signature, please find the list of names and phone numbers. If you want to visit their offices, that's great, too. The decision-making meetings will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, at around 3 pm, and I will send out a follow-up message about those tonight as I get more information.

Thank you all for joining with me in standing up to low expectations!
