Aloha Daintry,

The Rate Commission meeting scheduled 9am to 1030am held this past Monday Jan 8, 2018 at the Mission Memorial Conference Room lasted till noon and was set for Monday January 22 from 1pm to 430pm at Mission Memorial Conference Room.

I believe it is important that you attend and testify for your clients since there is a huge push from DTS to raise the HV fare up to $4 one way. My concern is all the ADA who only receive and live on extremely low income (under the poverty level).

As a commissioner on the Rate Commission, the only one who has ridden bus and currently paratransit, I myself am on low income. I have been trying to bring it to the Rate Commission's attention that there should be a fare for low income.

Eventhough there were paratransit testifyers they are having difficulty trying to find out agenda's times of meetings and where. At this time I don't even know where testimony can be sent it. But it could be delivered in person or when you testify on mon jan 22.

I have attached two testimonys I found under Bill 28 (this last bus raise) the Paratransit portion was taken out of this bill by City Council. But what I found and I have brought to light and pushing is DTS testimony June 2017 in which they propose to change ROH 13-2.11 to Paratransit fares for those with extreme low incomes. Nothing ever came of it as DTS decided to let the Rate Commission handle it.

Now when I brought this up, DTS says that it can't be done although in the ROH there is a current discount for bus riders with low incomes. PARATRANSIT IS BUS BUT FOR ADA. So a lot of testifyers want this and I need your take on this also.

Please call me Ph 450-8838 my cell to discuss this. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE AS DTS IS PUSHING FOR INCREASE BEFORE MARCH 1 TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS YEARS ADMINISTRATIVE BUDGET (MAYORS)

We are so close HELP!!!

Barbra J. Armentrout
