Hello everyone,
I'll be doing the Employment Seminar, the Spanish Seminar, the Writers'
Division Meeting and possibly the Writers' Idol and the Back-to-Basics
Seminar. These are the only things I'll be recording thus far.
Concerning the Web site Tina we've been through this before. If you want
to see the Web site construction begin set about learning how to create Web
pages so you can help build it. We need as many hands on deck as we can get
so this project can get off of the ground.
As for recording equipment I'll stick by my guns and say that investing
in high-quality recording equipment is the only way to go if we're to create
recordings that will be preserved for years to come. I'll be in Orlando with
$1000.00 of professional recording equipment once again to capture the
activities listed above and in one case begin to see a return on our
investment two years ago. If finding the bucks to purchase this equipment
would mean that I could get paid for doing some of this work it's a wise
investment. I wouldn't consider that audio snobbery if such an investment
would eventually allow me to make a living as will be the case this year. If
others wish to have that same opportunity I would seriously consider
investing in professional recording equipment.
Please watch the Braille Monitor and presidential releases for
information as to how to receive the 2011 Employment Seminar. See everyone
in Orlando.

Subject: [Nfb-history] Convention Recordings
This list has been almost dead over the past several months, so I thought
I'd get things rolling by asking what people plan to record for archive
during the convention. I will be doing the Membership committee meeting, as
well as the Newsletter and Publications committee. They're on separate
nights this year, which is a first. Other than that, I'm wide open.
I also plan to do the Living History group meeting this year, as usual.
I'm sure this has been brought up before, but what good is it when people
record all this stuff, but it only reaches the one who does the recordings
and no one else? I'd like to get us thinking seriously about establishing a
web site where this great stuff can be distributed.
Whatever you do, bring your mp3 players and voice recorders with you to
Orlando, so we can add to our already rich collection. Let's all try to
contribute something this year. Thanks.
