[Nfb-history] Spanish Language Material on NFB Web Site

Hello everyone,

First if someone could send me a recording of the Living History Meeting
following the convention I'd appreciate that very much. I have three
recording jobs to do on Saturday June 30 one of which over-laps the time of
the Living History Group meeting so won't be able to make it but would
appreciate knowing what went on.

One issue I feel should be discussed is the inclusion of material on the
NFB Web Site in Spanish. Our Spanish translations of certain NFB articles
and speeches is listed in the "Literature" section but cannot be accessed
for online reading or listening as many other publications can. Given the
large number of current and potential Hispanic members I believe this needs
to change. The NFB of Puerto Rico Web Site shouldn't be the only place where
blind Hispanics can find material in their native language.

For the past three years I recorded the annual seminar for Spanish
Speakers held during the national convention. This year's Spanish Seminar
will be the third one to be recorded. I would hope that in the future these
Spanish translations of NFB material will not only be listed in the
"Literature" section but can be accessed in text, audio, and video formats
to allow us to better reach the blind Hispanic Community. All the best.

In caverns deep a burning snare,
He shot from heaven a piercing ray,
And the dark treachery brought to day.”
