[Nfb-history] It's that Time Again

Tina:

I sent the recording of last year's DAN seminar to the JTB. If you wish, I
can send it to you via dropbox link. The way, if I may be so bold, to listen
to this year's seminar, is to *attend!* If it's important enough to you,
you'll be there.

Bear in mind that it's recorded using a BookSense, albeit it's a good
recording. This may be one reason JTB hasn't made all these recordings
available - they're amateur recordings. And, as Pete Donahue found out, it
costs big bucks as well as the permission of the hotel, to do a really
bang-up job, tapping into the hotel P.A., to get professional-sounding
recordings. Get those car donations going and maybe we can talk about the
efficacy of the greatly increased cost of using the hotel system. (grin)

That's excellent. I'm glad you have a Book Port Plus, as its recording
abilities are the best of any of the players in our market. Let me know what
you're recording, and you and I can meet sometime to get the files. I'll
bring an SD card reader and an SD card or two. Also, I have let my affiliate
know of my conflict. If they can't change the time of the affiliate meeting,
I'd appreciate you backing me up on Monday. If nothing, I can join the
meeting if the affiliate meeting doesn't go too late.

Also, someone recorded the Diabetes Action Network seminar last year, but I
don't recall it ever being made available to anyone.

That reminds me. We've talked about this for years, but have not been able
to come up with a solution. How are we to make various recordings, apart
from what is produced through National, available for any interested
parties? That is something we'll need to discuss. Thanks.
