Perkins Archives volunteers Larry and Sue Melander have spent the last four years transcribing hand-written indexes of names and page numbers found inside Perkins incoming bound correspondence. Dating from 1828-1910 this is no small feat. Their hard work and dedication has made the digitized versions on the Internet Archive searchable. An invaluable resource, these volumes include letters from parents, other institutions for the blind, and important figures, including Charles Dickens. More information about this project, including an interview with Larry and Sue Melander is available at <http://perkinsarchives.us6.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=e6c5162e8795bc5c4f5319809&id=4e5fac6b0b&e=ce8108b558> perkins.org/stories/news/weve-got-mail-digitized.
