Here are some suggestions from Auction Frogs about getting bids for our auction. I encourage anyone who can help to do so. Thank you.

Subject: Marketing Your Auction

Hi Ramona,

Now that your auction has started, I wanted to give you some helpful tips to maximize your auction's exposure when it comes to social media. Social media is a great way to attract people to your auction and build goodwill with businesses, donors and potential bidders. Primarily, that involves Facebook, Twitter, or the website. Please refer to the list of tips below so that your site can have maximum exposure and to potentially reach your goal.

1. Use your organization’s Facebook page, and your supporters’ personal Facebook pages, to drive more traffic to your auction by tagging as many businesses, people or organizations as possible so the post shows up on the respective pages

2. Use Facebook and Twitter as a touchstone for this auction and future fundraising efforts.

3. Highlight an item each day by saying something like "Check out this item <link>, be sure to out bid me!"

4. Ask committee members to share company page on their personal page by saying something like "XX Business XX is hosting an online auction <link> to support <the cause> . Help me help them by bidding on this item <link to item> or others by clicking here <link to all items>

5. Thank donors for their generosity and get their supporters to notice your auction. Supportive comments are like gold and businesses remember who thanks them publicly. Showing thanks makes everyone feel good and raises your stock as an organization.

6. Be consistent and post, tweet, re tweet and link as much as possible. Get others to do the same so it reaches many different social circles

7. Don't forget about event community calendars to post the online auction dates and the hyperlinks on as well to drive in exposure to the online community looking for things to do in your area.

8. Create a FB event and invite everyone you can to like the page. You could use the page to post about items that don't have a lot of bid activity or post information about the site and why you are trying to raise money.

We hope you will remember to tag us ( #auctionfrogs or @auctionforgs ) when posting about your auction.
