Subject: Accessibility Self-Evaluation and Transition Plans

Dear Neighbors, Friends, and Partners:

We are pleased to announce the availability of the draft Accessibility Self-Evaluation and Transition Plans for 4 Southern Idaho National Park areas. The parks included in this current self-evaluation include City of Rocks National Reserve, Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve, Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, and Minidoka National Historic Site. The preparation of an accessibility self-evaluation and transition plan is mandated by regulations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as they apply to the US Department of the Interior. Public entities are required to evaluate their current programs, policies, and practices dealing with accessibility and to develop a strategy for making the necessary changes to improve them.

All of this information is presented for your review in the draft plan. Because your feedback is important for the completion of the draft plan, we are asking for your thoughtful review and comments during the 45-day comment period. Please submit your feedback online at:

• City of Rocks National Reserve: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/AccessCIRO

• Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve: https:/ /parkplanning.nps.gov/ <http://parkplanning.nps.gov/> AccessCRMO

• Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/AccessHAFO

• Minidoka National Historic Site: https://parkplanning.nsp.gov/AccessMIIN

Your comments will be most helpful if submitted by August 2, 2019.

If you have a public meeting of interested citizens who would like more information on the park Accessibility Self-Evaluation and Transition Plans for 4 Southern Idaho National Park areas it may be possible to arrange a staff member to attend your meeting. Please let us know when and where your meeting is held. If you know of other interested groups or organizations please feel free to share the details of our project with them.
