Hi Ginger,
I have a GE Profile smart stove that works with Alexa.
I had a couple of bumpy times when we first set it up, but knock on wood, I haven’t had an issue in years now.
I still bump dotted the controls in case of an internet down situation in my home.
I have a gas stove, and since Alexa won’t turn on an open flame on the stove top, I don’t try to have her turn on the broiler for the same reason. That doesn’t mean she can’t, I just always use the bump dots for the broiler.
A friend of mine has a smart Samsung, and she says her touch screen is so sensitive she can’t make use of the bump dots because as soon as she gets close with her fingers to find the correct bump dot, it activates before she determines which button she wants.
I would also take note of the color most of your dishes, mugs, casserole dishes and mixing bowls are.
I chose a black granite counter top because 99% of my items are white or a light color. This makes it easier for me to locate where I put things.
Choose a contracting color to most of your things so you can do the same if you have any vision at all.
Good luck,
Debbie Azzarone

Hello all, and Happy New year!
We’re planning to remodel our kitchen and I wondered if anyone had tips on what works well and what doesn’t when it comes to your kitchens. Also, I’m wondering if anyone has used one of the new SmartPhone ranges or has recommendations for accessible ranges.
Thanks,
Ginger
