I would agree with Jennifer's comments.
Plus, the more you do it, the faster and easier it will get. If your hearing is good, you will soon be able to tell by the weight of the glass and the sound it makes.
Good luck.Debbie

Pouring your own milk from a carton is definitely something that you can do. Make sure your cup is on a counter or table and use your fingertip just inside the rim of the cup so that when you pour in the milk hits your fingertip then you stop pouring because you know the cup is almost full. If you don't want to use your finger you can tell by the sound or the weight of the cup just pour slowly and you can keep checking but of course you would probably need to check with your fingers so to me using a fingertip just inside the cup makes sense.
Best,
Jennifer

milk
Hi all,
For Christmas Mom got me this pump thing that goes on the jugs of milk but I like the taste of the milk in the cartons way better (it's actually does taste different so I'm not crazy; it's something to do with the wax coating on the cartons) so I never wanted the thing in the first place but didn't have the nerve to tell her when she first told me about it a couple of months before Christmas. I find it hard holding the cup up to the pump especially as it gets fuller but pouring from the carton has resulted in several spillages including a couple that have resulted in milk running all down the cupboards and onto the floor. Mom gets really mad when this happens and today she said that we're going back to the jugs but I told her that if I'm doing it then I can use what I want; even sighted people make messes and I'd think that most visually impaired people pour things from cartons and don't need a fancy gadget to help them get a drink. What do you think I should do? I'm in a really bad mood about this so I really need help and to vent. Thanks for reading,
Madison
