Hey, all:
Open to suggestions here. The West Bend slow cooker I've had for about 3
years now-metal, rectangular, 6-7 qt with a removable griddle underneath and
a simple dial control for temp-is losing its nonstick coating, so I need to
replace it. It's very similar to one I grew up with, but that one didn't
develop the nonstick coating issue-apparently, a different company
manufactures them now-lesser quality, for sure. So, I looked into slow
cookers at Amazon, and there is one, a rare one, that doesn't require the
heavy lifting of a crock off a base or for carrying anywhere, but the temps
are controlled by a touch pad, of course. I love the lightness, portability
and convenience of the one that's on its way out, but I'm not likely to find
a quality unit like that. You could even brown your meat as the unit sat on
its griddle-super-simple. Any thoughts from someone who's recently bought a
blind-friendly slow cooker and maybe is as picky as me, LOL? I look forward
to getting some clarity here. Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions.
Sandra
