Hi Sidney and all;
Will you be at the chat tonight? I do plastic canvis. Let me know and
I will try to attend. Then we can get a handle on what you really want
to make.
After convention, I can send you some samples of plastic canvis.
If you have long distance, I can help you over the phone.
Talk to you tonight.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] Plastic canvas/cross stitch

Greetings, everyone!

Sorry about disappearing for awhile there. The last semester of
undergrad has been busy but is finally calming down a little. Anyway,
I'm wondering if there will be a class on plastic canvas soon? Also, is
it at all similar to cross stitch or embroidery. Someone suggested to
me that I could learn to cross stitch usin waste canvas over cloth, but
wouldn't plastic canvas work as well? I'm really interested in learning
some sort of needlework or tapestry weaving in order to make Orthodox
icons. I've found very little info on icon tapestries, just a few sites
with photos etc., but I've found some cross stitch patterns plus lots on
embroidery and punch needle stuff. I know how to weave in general
(never done tapestry, though), and it seems that cross stitch on plastic
or waste canvas might be doable for a blind person. Any thoughts,
suggestions, or ideas? Thanks!

Xristos anesti!

Sydney
