Yes, these ideas were helpful.  thanks!  Just to clarify, are you saying 
that there will only be an opening to put the box inside the cover, on one 
side and the top, so that you have to slide it in?  By the way, it's a cube 
shape.  Also, the hole has jagged areas, which has been challenging.  I've 
ended up making the smallest stitch, across one horizontal bar and in the 
same column, along the uneven edging.  Is there a name for this stitch?
