Terry:

The weight of yarn you use depends on the size of your needle. If you are
using a size 10.5 needle and you have worsted weight, the 10.5 needle is a
little big for that yarn. Normally a size 6 to 9 ndl is used with worsted
weight. You can try knitting with that yarn and see how well you like the
results. I am not telling people to use any one needle size or weight so
they can use what they have. The length of the needles for knitting with 2
circular needles is up to you. However, if it were me, I wouldd not choose
a 40 length or longer needle to use so it will be less cumbersom. However,
if all you have is a 40" you can use, but it will give a lot of extra length
for that technique. If you have 1 24 or 32" length that will work, or 2 16"
lengths that will also work.
If you had read my previous posts, they stated that you can use either 2
needles of either different lengths or 2 needles made from different
materials. I'm not forcing people to go out and buy extra needles for the
sake of buying, I'm trying to make it easy on people. The class will not
teach how to make 1 particular item.
It will teach a technique that you can use in any project of your choosing
once you learn the technique.
