How about making it the same size as the canvis and when doing the edging, include the knitted piece in your overcast.  Stitching the 2 items together.  Leave your tail on the inside, between the canvis and the knitting.  When done, bring your tail between both items and out through one side, an inch or so from your corner and cut.  Take your needle and push any remaining tail inside your project.

I have used it, and the product I used didn't stain or seep through. WE used it to make tree ornaments without any problem.

Hi: 

Has anyone used fabric glue?  If so, will it stain?  I want to glue a knitted backing onto a stitched plastic canvas piece and am wondering if I smush a bit of glue between the two pieces (on the inside) will it show through on the visible sides?
