[Nfb-krafters-korner] Fabric Glue?

I think I said this in class, I back mine with a plain piece of canvis and stitch the 2 together with the over cast stitch. You can always make 2 coasters and put them back to back and stitch them together. Make sure your tail is inbetween the original and the plain canvis. See my other description about putting a knitted back on.
I have only done a loop coaster, neetly, with out a back, a coaster with a canvis back and 2 of the same coaster, back to back. The last method is very time consuming. I use the plain canvis method.

That's interesting -- I have 2 coasters I did for Terry's class and want to cover the back sides with something, but I don't know what to use. Would felt be appropriate for that? It is just messy enough that I want to cover it up so as not to be confused with the fronts of the coasters.

Oh, but the name "Tacky glue" sounds a bit, "tacky" -- does it look good when you're done? assuming you don't get globs of it on the outside?

What besides felt would be good for covering the underside of a coaster? I was thinking of something rubberized so it wouldn't slide.
Happy krafting.

There is 2 types of Tacky glue for crafting. One is in a bottle that you
can squeeze and it is thicker then Elmer's. This dries clear. The other
is Tacky glue that comes in a jar. It is more like a tooth paste thickness.
I have used the jar glue to paste felt onto plastic canvas. It works very well and dries clear.I put the paste on the plastic canvas and then onto the fabric. I have used my finger to rub the glue from the jar onto things. I have used a toothpick if I am working on small items. I have even used my glucose test strips to spread it on. I let the kids use the glucose test strips. You need to kinda peel it off your fingers if you don't use a similar tool. Popsycle sticks work well, too.
