Lynda,
Simply magnificent!  Wow, not one show, but two! I thought I was doing good with a whole month, but this gives me the hope that more people will take notice of fabric artists and reward all the fabulous costume makers of the stage and screen with shows of recognition in their field. They're artists in their own right.
Lynda, thank you for being part of our group. We each join in celebrating when we hear of your achievements on your new life path. We were given life and the challenges that go along with it and what we do in repayment of that gift really matters.
    Huzzah!

PS  Lynda, We got some great publicity on our Theatre Arts Comes Alive show. It was picked up on the front page of the local paper, a 3 page spread in a CT publication, "The Review" and one of the ladies costume made "The NY Times". Yah!

Speaking of God's delightrul surprises, here is what happened to me yesterday:

A regional gallery director called me to offer me a one person show of my pottery and beadwork for September 2011. This came "out of the blue" as I had not approached the museum, nor had even thought of it.

Here is how it happened:  The director put together an 8 person show for this Sept. and I am part of a group of artists, Associated ARtists of Pittsburgh. She put together an 8 person show, and I am one of the 8. So, I had to send her some photos of my pottery for publicity.

The pictures arrived by email. She copied them, and took them to a meeting of the art committee and the committee wanted to feature my work in a one person show for NEXT year, as well as the 8 person show for THIS year. I was very excited and very surprised.

This year marks the first time in 3 years, since sight loss, that I ahve been able to begin exhibiting again. Just a year ago I had thought that my exhibition life was over and I could see no way I could ever be the person I was before sight loss. A year makes a world of difference! When I had to change from being the painter I had always been, to a pottery, I just did it with no thoughts of ever being in gallery/juseum shows again. God is truly amazing and I am so thankful for this opportunity. I am also thankful for this list and the encouragement I have had here from some of you. You have made a BIG difference in my life and I thank you.
