[Nfb-krafters-korner] yarn question

Ninn:
If you want to use a better quality bead like glass in your knitting the
only other thing I can think of is to string the better beads onto a thin
fingering weight yarn and knit with the fingering yarn just as in knitting
with double strands (holding 2 strands together). But not sure if this
might be setting you up to struggle with your yarns because its just a part
of knitting with 2 strands at the same time that the yarn will twist
together and that could make sliding your beads up difficult.
You will just need a reall large hole for worsted weight yarn. There are
those large wood beads that could do it, but if your knitting needs a
washing and I assume it will at some point, not sure how wood will hold up
in water/soap.
Then too it seems that the beads with large holes are big and heavy and I
think over time it will stretch your knitting out of shape from the weight
of the beads.
What about knitting with DK or Sport weight? You seem to be a really good
knitter so think you'd be able to handle and feel either of those weight
yarns and that will open more up to you on the beading side.
