[Nfb-krafters-korner] Dropped Stitches

Mary, you can do that. I do prayer shawls, and I have been making those
sweaters for the kids for a number of years, too. That is what motivated me
to try to knit again after I lost my sight 3 years ago. I had a sweater 1/2
finished, and I wanted to get it done to send off. I struggled and
struggled. Then, I realized I had to quit trying to see it with my eyes, and
once I let my fingers become my eyes, then I could do it again. I am so
thankful for knitting, it saved me, really. It gave me something to keep on
going for. My college employer had fired me when I lost my sight, before I
could get rehab training and I was very depressed about that. But, beginning
to knit for the kids gave me hope and something to live for at that time.
Knitting is a life giving gift - to me when I knit, and to others who I make
things for. I love to knit! Lynda River Woman
