I have a easy up type of tent and it can be very unstable in rain and wind
gusts. We do have weights, but a wind gust goes up inside the tent in a
momen'ts time, and when the tent is anchored down and won't move, it
actually bends the entrie tent and will literally twist the top off, or
collapse the entire tent. I have lost the top twice in the past 7 years due
to storms. The other thing this kind of tent does, it becomes a swimming
pool, on top. The rain will fill up in the top of the tent and add so muc
weight it will collapse and you will be entirely flooded, plus ahve to
replace the structure parts inside the tent and that is expensive. Had to do
that twice. You have to keep poking the top, from the inside, to get the
water to roll out of the sagging pockets, during the raining time.
There are other tents that are put up very differently, that are much better
than the easy up style. They are lots more secure, put up with heavy poles
and have an arched, curved roof that does not gather water. It is a much
more expensive type of tent.
The weather here in PA is very, very unpredictable, and it can be a
brilliantly sunny and warm day, then in a moment it is dark and high winds
and flood waters are pourning down on you. I definitely like indoor show
