[Nfb-krafters-korner] Braille was RE: needles

Well, maybe too if your life was in upheaval from loosing your sight and 
maybe you were feeling a little negative towards Braille and all you had to 
newly learn or things you had to relearn just to get buy from day to day it 
may not have been the right time for you to learn Braille.  At least you 
learned Grade I and can perhaps jot down a phone number or mark a bottle or 
skein of yarn with a Braille label.  All I can tell you is that between both 
my talking computer & Braille I can tend to all my household business from 
paying bills on line to processing mail ... all important mail that has to 
be saved gets  Brailled with who its from, date, amounts, anything that is 
important to know right off the top when I am looking through envelopes.  So 
many other ways Braille can be useful I can't list them all.  The talking 
computer would not be enough on its own for me to take care of all my stuff 
independantly.  Maybe one day, if you feel like you're having a difficult 
time finding stuff or keeping organized you will reconsider learning more 
Braille when the motivation is stronger.  Soap box off ... at least you did 
give Braille a try.
