I, too lost my sight in my mid age at 46 and learning Braille is a real  
challenge.  I do not have the sensitivity in my fingers after poking my  
fingers for blood sugars for a long time now.  Gee if I was a kid and could  
learn everything I needed when I was an adult Braille would be high on my list,  
but besides labeling things I don't use much Braille.  
 
If  I save my money and get one of these bar code scanners I would use  
Braille even less then I use it now.
