Has anyone done stick weaving and if so, what have you made?

My husband and I are getting involved in living history events and I was looking for a period correct activity I could do to pass time at the events.  I found that stick weaving is a very old, and easy type of weaving.  I am currently making a sash for my husband.  I know the strips can be attached to make larger items and I wonder if any of you have tried it.
