[Nfb-krafters-korner] Braille verses talking

E comes first in the alphabet and has a dot 1 where the I has a dot 2 and comes later in the alphabet.
Easy!

D and F I don't have trouble with as the F sort of has the same shape as a capital print F and the D the top of a capital print D. The I and E though....I am forever mixing them up.

I think of it this way -- for remembering "of" and "with" in braille -- The computer braille meaning of those symbols is open paren and close paren.

So think, open paren is "of" and close paren is "with", and you can remember

which comes first by alphabetical order.
You know, I get d and f mixed up too, or at least I used to. Think of the forward pointing one being f for forward, and also the lower cell version is

the exclamation point. They are also numbers 4 and 6. I still have to stop

and think when I'm brailling my credit cards with those numbers. e and i also can be a pain.

I have been a braille reader since I was 11 and read it very well but when I
use a slate and styllus I really have to think about the letters "d" and "f"
and the contractions for the words "of" and "with." It amazes me wen I have
that problem.
