I have purchased Cascade 220 100% wool [220 yards] $4.99 per skein
and Valley Yarns North Hamptom 100%wool [247 yards] $4.99 per ball.   Note 
this comes in pull balls, Cascade comes in skeins which you put in  balls
 
The North Hamptom you can probabbly get 3 hats from 2 balls
Cascade you can get 6 hats out of 5 skeins and Cascade is on sale at  $4.99
