I just found out something about the beads that might make it a 
little easier to find the hole.  There is a seam left from the 
mold the bead was made from.  It always goes around the bead like 
the equator and the hole is always at the top and bottom of the 
globe.  So if you find this seam and hold the bead with your 
thumb and index fingers on the seam, the hole will always be on 
the side facing your other hand.
