[Nfb-krafters-korner] Mid-week question - color?

Okay, this explains more closely my problems with color these days.

I could see color back in the day. I remember those hues but I know that
things are changing all the time. Including new names for old colors and new
hues for old color names. Also color combinations have changed.

I am sure of this since my Husband can't believe the combinations people
wear. For example, blues didn't go with browns when I could see and in the
time my Husband seems to be stuck in now. Lol But the girls will bring me
home with a new brown top to wear with my jeans.

So making jewelry especially has been a challenge for me. I usually let the
kids pick the colors. But sometimes, I go with my gut.

I went to a nice beading store to get seed beads for a fall necklace. When
I got home I had a mustardy yellow color and a brown that no one thought
made a good combination. The store keeper, a very artsy guy, thought they
would be perfect. So color is in the eye of the beholder and ours see
black, grey or some combination. What is a girl to do? Lol

Gosh, I would think Mauve would be as you imagined it to be, too. I rely on
my husband and my grand daughter or a knitting friend for a lot of help in
knowing what a color is. They are all artists, so I trust them to give me an

accurate description. Lynda
