[Nfb-krafters-korner] What is nifty knitter

My daughter and I both use knitting looms but the style she bought is a
little different than mine. The pegs pull out of the frame on hers, and
although this might be helpful when removing a project, it is not very fun
when pegs come loose in the middle of a project. I have also read that some
of the pegs on some looms are more flexible than others and I can see how
this might be nice if you wrap a bit too tight sometimes. The looms I ended
up with by chance are rigid and the pegs do not come out and the only thing
I have found that I like better than my original is the new pick I found. My
first one was molded plastic and the new ones I have found have metal picks
with rubberized foam handles. They are easier to grip and the metal seems to
snag on the yarn less than the molded plastic one did. I look forward to
future classes where I can learn to do more than hats and scarves. Please,
if you are a teacher, organize a class! I'll sign up.

A Nifty Knitter is an awesome method of knitting using a loom instead of
needles. There are a couple of different varieties. There is a round variety
with pegs arranged around a large circle, a long narrow one with pegs
running down either side, and I think there's one more that I'm blanking on.
You wrap your yarn around the pegs in different patterns to form the
stitches. I would recommend starting with the round loom to get thehangof
it.
