Welcome Raquel;
I also like country music! I work for the National Cancer Institute wich is part of the National Institute of Health, in MD. I have been here for about 26 years.
I do plastic canvis, a beginner at knitting, safty pin beading, a beginner at the knifty knitter, some beading and more. I also play the guitar and sing. I want to get a new guitar some day. I have not played much since I hurt my back. I also have at least 2 cancer servivers. I just joined a knitting group at my church. My crafts go almost where ever I go. I have epelepsi and a few other complications and I like to keep my hands busy. Sounds like we have a lot in common. When I find it, there is a book out written by a blind man, on knitting. I can not wait until I can buy a copy.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] Raquel's introduction

Hello, My name is Raquel Vega. I'm currently working toward a degree in music therapy. I sing and play guitar. Some of my musical influences include, the musical group the Carpenters, John Denver, and a lady named Eva Cassidy.

I've worked a lot with music therapy in dealing with cancer patients, being a cancer survivor my self. So that's one of the things vary close to my heart.

Some of my favorite foods and drink are, dR. Pepper, Coffee, iced tea, cheetos the crunchy kind, and anything with caramel, or peanut butter or cinnamon in it.

During the winter I suffer from the winter blues, otherwise known as seasonal affect disorder. Feeling sad or lacking energy do to lack of sunlight. I find that nice music and scents help me threw it. I like many different kinds of scents.

I'm a beginner when it comes to crafts. I'd appreciate any ideas for projects. I'd like to knit, but It's kind of hard. I can't find someone who'll teach me how to cast on stitches. I guess I can start off with something to do with beads. I don't know. I'm at a loss what to start with.

Thank you for allowing me to share with you. I'm quite shy, and it's real hard for me to do, but for some reason I found my self doing so here quite easily I look forward to this group.

Raquel,
