[Nfb-krafters-korner] classes and times

Dixie:

I just finished a phone talk with Joyce and the resolution of that phone
chat is that I will no longer be teaching for the KK division of the nfb.
It appears that the wording of "the instructors own their class recordings"
could not be said in a strong and clear voice. It now further appears that
for the NFB to archive past recordings is an additional issue and it would
appear they are telling me that the archival of past years classes gives
them some kind of claim to those materials and that they no longer want the
responsibility on their shoulders as it was explained to me. When asked if
I could record and archive my own recordings and email them out I said,
"yes, I can." Well then it was brought to my attention that there are
instructors that cannot do this so the option Joyce wants to go with is to
stop the recordings of all classes. This in my mind is a very bad decision,
unfair to both instructors & students alike.
Guess the leadership wants to punish everyone because they can't have things
just their way! Seems some people just want it the way they want it
regardless if laws of copyright & ownership get violated or not. I'm very
discouraged that the right and lawful thing could not be stated out loud or
in writing for all on the list to read and hear.

When the topic of having a few open board meetings was brought up, pretty
much they are only done once a year, and if more often than that it is at
the president's discression -- more responsibility placed on one person's
shoulders.

Well, I am still a paid-up dues member up through July so maybe I can still
take classes with some of you.

I'll miss all you folks who I have been in different classes with and want
you all to know that I have totally enjoyed working with all of you. Happy
crafting, and be careful who you teach for in the future!
Stay in touch we can still email off list. Be well.

Eileen
Again, I do not under any circumstances give the NFB KK Division rights to
or the ownership of nor the rights to sell as fund raising materials
recordings I did of my classes -- they are my property,.
