Barb,
I don't know if you like to knit or crochet....but I find that is a craft 
that many people have extra supplies and don't mind sharing.
Also, there are many books on NlS on specific crafts and that helps to 
narrow the topic.
I have been blind for most of my life and I always like trying new crafts. 
One idea I do is to find a new craft and then do internet searches. I will 
agree krafts get spendy, but that is where these classes help to get ideas 
from teachers all ready invovled.
