I have only used yarn, so far.  I would not use wire, but my friend gave me some material like gimp.  I am thinking of trying it, anything you can do macramay with.  I have not tried it yet so do not know the outcome.

I would like to know if anyone has a pattern for canvas coasters?  I would also like to use something other than yarn for them.  Maybe some kind of wire or twine?  Having said that I could use some ideas about the count of canvas to use for such a project or a pattern that others have used and liked.  The only stitch I know how to use is the half cross stich.  Thanks for the help.
