A tri bead is what we used in Gail's little people key chain class.   They 
are a triangle bead with a hole in the middel of the triangle.  The  bumpy 
bead you are referring to in the safety pin stuff is called a fasceted  bead.

Yes. Pony  beads can absolutely be used in safety pin beading. You can even 
make pictures  with them. And, they come in all colors, combinations like 
swirl or speckled,  transparent, glow in the dark, and even when exposed to 
the sun, have a  special look! The variety is huge. Now, just what to do with 
them?? Any  ideas?

Now I have done things with Girl Scouts and pony beads, but can  the pony 
beads be used on the safety pins to create a unique feel and look to  a 
project?  Pony beads are easily found in many crafting stores like AC  Moore's, 
Joann's, Michael;s, etc.
