I am a little confused with your comment and I hope you could clarify this  
a little better.  You say, 
"If we have 50 members at $10 each,
that is $500 in the kitty for one  year.  I will be interested to hear where
that $500 has gone and what  exactly the expenses are that require more
fundraising for the NFB KK at this  time."
 
We have done fund raising for 2 years at convention, but have not done any  
fund raising this year.  Many of the Divisions[I am not sure if all  
divisions] collect an annual membership. I don't believe membership dues  are 
considered fund raising, but I might be wrong.
 
I know that people donate in many ways to the Krafters Divisionin giving of 
 their time and/or their money.  Many of our board members andsome of our  
members have spent their own money for the division and have not submitted 
bills  to the division.  So I can say last years membership dues that were  
collected sit in our treasurery untouched.
 
We are a new division and membership that has been paid for this coming  
year July 2011 to July 2012    consist of 14 paid  members.    I am looking 
forward to a good upcoming year and hope  our membership grows.  This NFB 
Division is unlike any other division in  the NFB as our membership and 
activities throughout the year puts us in touch  with each other via emails, 
telephone conference calls and classes.  We  feature members involvement on our 
website and we get our members to visit our  website more frequently [you have 
to go to our website to sign up for classes]  so the website is constantly 
being changed and updated.
 
I am so thankful for all our teachers and the involvement with chatter on  
emails and sharing each others know how with crafting.  There is no other  
place like this that I have been able to find and each one of us needs to sit 
 back, roll up their sleeves and help make Krafters Korner a special place 
for  everyone.
 
Membership dues are collected annually and are good from July to July or  
any part of the year up to July 1st.  We have over 125 folks on this list  
serve and as of last year less then half were paid members.  We need the  
membership dues in order to cover our expenses, be prepared to plan for future  
events or things for our members.  
 
I encourage each one of you to send in any of your ideas or suggestions and 
 help plan ahead for NFB Krafters Division.
 
Krafters Korner is for everyone and everyone makes Krafters Korner what it  
is.
