I know that this is way off topic. However, I know several of you have disabled children or know people who do. As parents, we don't even think that our children should get "s s d i " as small children. They are our responsibility and we care for them.So we don't apply for services that we don't think we need.

Now that our son is 43 and we are planning for his life when we aren't able to care for him, we are being told that since he didn't get s s d i before he was eighteen he is not going to get the full amount services that he would be entitled to if he had gotten s s d i as a child.

I would suggest you talk to your legal adviser and see if you should be doing something to insure your child's future.

Hope this info helps someone prevent the issues I have to fight now.
Henrietta
