Linda is correct on that the EBay Pilot Program has been a challenge to all
that was chosen. I have heard 3 people from my group have been taken out
of the program due to not meeting goals.

As Linda said we have a weekly one on one mentorvia telephone that is at
least one hour. We have every other week an hour discussion among the
members that are in the Pilot program. I have arranged once a week an hour
with 2 of the ones in the group and myself to work on getting around and
problems with JAWS and the EBay site. Our mate Tonia, who teaches computer to
the blind in Virginia has helped me out a lot and Tonia hit Top Seller and
will be speking at the Convention.

I want to add to Joyce's information about eBay at Convention. It is
WONDERFUL - and I really want to encourage you guys, if you are at all
interested, to learn about eBay. I just love doing it, but it is a STEEP
LEARNING CURVE to do it successfully.

For those interested, you can have a look at what I have put together so
far
for my eBay store. I currently have 95 items listed in it and my goal is
to
have 200 items listed at all times. But the things is, I keep selling the
things, so that is a good problem to have. My focus is on HEALING ARTS
GEMSTONES, Fine Art, and HANDMADE JOURNALS, and VINTAGE collections. I
gave
my store the name _The Zen Meditation Garden_ but that may change as I try
to think of something that would be better and fit my theme of merchandise.

I have to say that after the training we had in Baltimore I really
struggled
with it. I was listing and working hard, but nothing was happening enough
to
make it worthwhile for me.

Finally, by April, I just about gave up as I had worked very hard and had
very little to show for my hard work. We had the training, and then, we
were left to struggle it out on our own. This was discouraging to say the
least. I felt lost at sea, adrift. There was no follow-up after we left
other than a couple phone conversations between ourselves. We needed HELP
from someone who was successful at eBay but that was not what we had afte
we
left the training sessions.

Finally, a month ago, we were put in a mentoring program and I am in a
group
of 8 of the 16 people who attended. All 8 of us will reach the goals, or
have exceeded the goals we have set for our business. This has made all
the
difference.

In the past 30 days I have sold nearly as much as I had sold in the
previous 120 days total. The mentoring has been the KEY to doing this
program. Without it, I would not be doing eBay at all by now because I was
not having results that would motivate any sensible person to continue on
with it.

In the future, if they continue to do this program, I think it is
essential
that the mentoring start from the get-go - so that all of the people who
participate have the help that they need once they leave the initial class
room experience. This program is not EASY, and it takes an enormous amount
of WORK - I am working it about 10 - 12 hours a day presently to get the
results I am looking to achieve. It has started to work for me, and I can
now begin to see that it WILL really GO if I keep my nose to the
grindstone.
I really love doing it but it IS a JOB, for sure. I am a workaholic by
nature, so this is a great business venture for me, but without
thepersonal
one-on-one mentoring, I would not be doing it at all by now. I want to see
some money come back to me, not just keep going out - I like rewards for
me
efforts and I expect them.

OK, here is my store link so you can get an idea of what I have been
doing.
Right now, I am working on editing the "Custom Pages" to get them to all
be
alike. This will take me a few more days to get done - but it is a good
start. ANY suggestions you have for me are MOST welcome - I am struggling
my way through this just like everyone else. And, it IS a STRUGGLE for all
of us.
