Becky
You sure were lucky as a kid.
I forgot, I also made an afgan when I was young. Someone else put it together. Somewhere along the line, it got distroyed by one of our dogs.
Now I am getting back in the knitting world.

Oh forgot to explain. Aunt Olive was my mom's best friend. It was Olive who opened up my mom's world to crochet. They bought crochet books and learned together what they liked. Mom mainly made hats and scarves, while Olive expanded to shawls, throws, vests. Olive showed me how to kind of do a vest. I figured it out from her vague description. Mom was very pleased.
Mom made vests from then on. I made throws after that. The first crocheted throw I made was for my beloved cocker spaniel Jacy.

Mom kept making excuses why I could not go visit Aunt Olive. Guess she was jealous as Aunt Olive had such a wide vocabulary of stitches and techniques.

Thank you Aunt Olive. See you soon when God calls me home.

Becky and Jake
