[Nfb-krafters-korner] Brief recap of the meeting

Sorry for the delay in sending this out, I have been under the weather.

Four board members were present--Joyce Kane, president; Cindy Sheets, 1st
vice president; Laurie Porter, 2nd vice president, Ramona Walhof, board
member.

The attendance at the meeting ranged from 18 to 13 with a majority of those
in attendance being teachers. The teacher and student agreements were read
and then explained line-by-line by Joyce and Cindy with the additional help
of Theresa Taylor, based on information from consulting her own attorney.
Various questions were asked and discussed.

After consulting the constitution, Joyce took an unofficial vote to
discontinue recordings based off of Henrietta's/Ramona's motion. Because
this meeting was posted as a board meeting, a membership vote could not be
official (and the treasurer was not present to verify the current "paid"
membership). The majority of members still present and voting at the meeting
agreed to discontinue official recordings by the NFB Krafters Division.

According to the constitution (a copy is being sent to the list), the
membership may be polled by mail, phone, or email. It was decided that an
official poll would be made via the listserv. Eileen (I am pretty sure it
was her) brought up the fact that some members are without internet at this
time due to the flooding in the south. Joyce confirmed that members would
also be permitted to call in a vote to her phone or to Cindy Sheets. As with
any vote, we cannot guarantee that every single member casts a vote;
however, we want to encourage the membership to help us get the word out to
members that you think may not be active on the listserv or currently having
problems that prevent them from getting the information.

The meeting was then adjourned.
