Cindy, 
   I don't see how the statement "may be polled" has anything to do with this issue. I made a statement concerning the "No proxy voting". They're not the same thing. Are you saying that because it only says "Members", we are now making an issue that only "certain" members will be contacted. 
   I really don't want to start another issue here but seeing that you choose to put this out on the list serve and not contact me privately I'll answer the last part of your email publicly.

   This is the statement that I received:

I am sorry you have to be absent for this meeting.  I am sorry that your vote will not be counted as you have to be present to have your vote counted.
   
   I am not going to go into details about why I could not be present because of having to attend a town meeting to protect my real estate valuation and property rights and why I think that was a great deal more important than ownership of "nonexclusive" teachers private property rights of their teaching materials but because this was not a vote concerning officers position I think my vote should have been allowed to be counted.
   I don't feel that this statement was necessary under the circumstances and I'm really not up to starting another big issue on this list. 
   I've been silent for quite a while and as most women who are mothers know sometimes its the best solution for everyone involved. 
   Do whatever you see fit to do with this Cindy. I was just trying to claify a point--not start a big discussion. I have nothing further to say. I'll go back to my little hole now.

Audrey,

The words "may be polled" does not indicate that every member has to be
contacted and vote. 

Additionally, the ten days notice is for "Special meetings," we are not
conducting a meeting and that section was brought up specifically to make
sure that we give "no less" than ten days for voting to occur even though
that is not required. Also, "I" specifically placed a note asking the
membership to help us get the word out. If the membership is trying to
exclude someone, please do let me know and I will personally get in touch
with that person to make sure they vote if they so choose to use that right.
