Hi Dick

That is great that your nephew is asking about doing crafts with you. He
obviously enjoyed it and want to do more with you. I encourage you to find
time to do even small projects, but I'm wondering about finding him a craft
that he can do without you. At this early hour the first idea that comes to
mind is teaching him how to make potholders on a loom. He is at a great age
to learn this if it interests him. You can usually find starter kits with
the loom and the loops of material for weaving at the craft store, and maybe
at WalMart or Kmart. You might even find them at the thrift shop minus the
loops which should be available where ever the kits are sold. Even if you
have never done this yourself, it is easy to learn and the 2 of you can be
up and running in minutes. I'm sure the other great minds on this group can
offer other projects that you can teach him to do on his own.

Annette

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] Hello everybody!

Hello again everybody!

Dick Carlson here once again. I had to get off many lists for the past
three months due to being so busy and not available as much for a lot of
email.
I had to get back on.
Anyway, this was a good list for good ideas and I hope to write from time to
time.
You guys remember me dealing a lot with my nephew Willy, who just turned
seven years old.
He's been in school and is doing quite well for what all he's been doing so
far.
I still look after him and am helping raise him, and things are going OK!
There has been some great improvement in some areas as well.
One thing he's asked lately is why we haven't done any art any more. I
guess it's been a little while since we've done anything crafty. Hmmm. Not
good!
Anyway, I guess we're going to get back to trying some fun crafts for kids.

Take care,
Dick
