[Nfb-krafters-korner] Storing crafting supplies?

Hi Ramona;

I was cleaning up and read your message again. How long does the braille last on a regular label? I have been using index cards on my items, to sell, but then I have to staple them to the bag and make sure the item does not get damaged. This might make it easier if the braille would hold up. I was also going to use the pen friend to put labels on cards and put the card in a bag of multiple scains of the same color.
I think I told everyone about the folding baskets for book cases, I got at Target. This way I can sourt my yarn by color or type of yarn. Still a lot of sourting to do!

The print labels sounds interesting, to me.
I also found plastic labels, with clips and alastic bands, at the NFB store. I also thought of using empty name badge covers and putting my tag in that for protection.

I wish dimo tape would stick on plastic! I find it keeps coming off on containers of past labeled beads.

Any ideas for labeling plastic containers? I may have to use the pen friend.
The plastic cabinet with the 7 drawers, from Walmart, is great for bead containers and supplies. Two or three are shallow and the others are deep. I need to label and organize my beads.

Terry P.

Miranda, I ask the cashier to put the skeins of yarn in separate bags according to color if I buy more than one color in the same size and type.
If you are buying beads retale, you could put them in envelopes or get someone to help sort when you get home. I label compartments where I store yarn, drawers, or squares which is mostly what I have. You can also wrap Braille labels around the handle of a plastic bag which works pretty well if you are piling up yarn on shelves or in the bottom of a closset. I have graduated to more space so I hope to not need to do that any more. When something is complete, I put a Braille label inside of it, usually a 3 by 5 card, especially if several things are similar. As my memory gets worse, I
need more labels. Everybody works out his or her own system. I like to
write on computer labels, because they already have sticky on the back which makes it quicker. However, I don't stick them to yarn, so then I stick labels to the containers or shelves.

Hope this gives you a few ideas.
