Hi Joyce, Barb, and LM,

Barb that was a great description of the ladder effect and the ways in which
to counteract it. glad I waited for some one else to reply before chiming
in.

Joyce, you are using a new loom for you, and having started using a new loom
myself, I thought I'd mention, that I had to learn all about how to keep
proper tension on my working yarn all over again. why it should matter if
the pegs are closer together or thinner, I don't know, but I found myself
wrapping too tightly even when knitting off one stitch at a time. I had to
really concentrate on wrapping loosely, just as I did when I first began to
loom knit. , I also realized that I had been working with cotton which of
course, does not stretch, and this was also adding to my struggles. When I
pick up my AKB next, I am going to use a stretchier yarn and concentrate on
wrapping loosely as I did when I first learned to loom. and of course if I
make something in the round, I will keep Barb's tips in mind.

Btw, LM, Joyce is knitting in the round, but she had been saying that she
tried casting on and knitting the loom first to the left, then taking her
work out and then casting on and knitting to the right. But each time she
still was having her problems with the ladder effect and yarn tension. So
she had concluded that it doesn't matter which direction she casts on and
knits around the loom. In other words, she does know how to knit in the
round or a flat panel. Good to see you jumping in and trying to help though!

Cathy
