Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] New Report on Looming & many thanks...

NEWS Report:

I spendt yesterday working with the loom and your suggestions on making
this work come out to my satisfaction.

Let me say this, yesterday morning I sat down and asked myself "why" am I
trying so hard with this stupid loom,? Well it comes down to my
Granddaughter
Bryana. She picked it up and did it. She comes over a few days a week
and have been sitting at the kitchen table[even when Great Grandma sits on
the girls] and works a few rows and we girl chat a little.

With the thought of toss the loom and pick up the round knitting needles...

I frogged out what I had done and started over. I still used 2 strands of
worstered weight. I concentrated on e wrapping looser and varying where
I stopped and started when taking off my stitches. I did notice an
improvement somewhat. I still seemed to have a gappy loose [1 stitch] that moved
around [must be that first beginning stitch]. At least it was not making a
ladder up the mitten.

Yesterday afternoon I frogged it out and decided a new road to try... I
went and got out a ball of Thick and Quick yarn[I was saving it for the
Princess/Bryana]. With all your advise and thoughts I concentrated and began
over.

NEWS FLASH!!!

I am thrilled. I did 12 rows and did the staggering and loose wrap and I
am sooo happy. I have nice even stitches. No gappy anythings. Bryana's
is better then mine[and I am very happy about that] at least I don't have
these loose areas. I can't wait to show it to her this afternoon when she
stopps over. I have praised her on how well she did and I have asked her
to show me how she is doing it[not easy since I have no sight and feeling
her hands is well...

So I am going to work on doing the cuff this afternoon. I know that was a
bit tough in being sure how many strands from the first row to put up and
then knit all but the one e wrap on top off. [Hopefully it will be easier
with the Thick and Quick 1 strand that I am using now].

Many thanks for each one of your time and patients in explaining how to try
 to make this right.
